Patterns and Pieces---

NATIONAL MAKE A BLANKET DAY
MARCH 5, 2011
9 AM -- 2 PM

Our National blanket day will be on March 5th (hopefully no snow!).

In the morning session, we will be working on quillows made from fleece.  Please bring 1 piece of fleece large enough for a blanket (at least 45x60) and a small piece of coordinating fleece for a pocket at least 12x15 (can be a scrap).  There will be some fleece available to work on.

If you want to stay through lunch, we will have an afternoon session.  I have learned a quilt square pattern and I love making it.  It is quick and can use up small pieces of fabric.

You will need:  1 piece of a print  45x 2 1/2", 1 piece of a companion 45 x 2 1/2" and 1 piece of a dark blended or solid color 2 1/2" x 45".

Batting will be furnished.

BRING--fabric, sewing machine, cutting tools.
BRING--1 can of vegetables (Soup is on the menu)
If you would like to bring cookies or snack food--Thanks--almost everyone likes a "coffee and a doughnut" break.

I am READY to get together.  It has been tooooooo long!

2011...We are in a new year, in fact, we are 2 months into a new year, and thanks to weather and other considerations, we are behind schedule!

Every February we have a "National Make a Blanket Day...until this year.  So, our Make a Blanket Day will be in March--March 5th.  I would like for this to be a longer than usual day so that we can actually get some blankets completed, labeled and ready to take to the children who need them.  Quillows--Bring fleece that you have, both yardage large enough for a quillow and small pieces that can be used for pockets.

There will be other fabric available to either cut the "Kansas City Quick Quilt" or the "Super-sized 9 Patch".  Both are easy to cut and quick to sew.

We are far behind in our blanket giving for this year, thanks to the wonderful weather.  Let's see how far we can go in "catchin' up" in March.

We will have lunch--more on that later!  Keep in touch...Jo
